Queensland Seniors

The  Queensland Seniors Facebook page is managed by the Queensland Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services.

Reporting elder abuse

If you are experiencing elder abuse, or suspect that an older person is being abused, it is important to know that help is available.

  • In an emergency phone the police on triple zero (000)
  • Call the Elder Abuse Helpline (9am–5pm, Monday to Friday) for free and confidential advice for anyone experiencing elder abuse or who suspects someone they know may be experiencing elder abuse.
    Phone: 1300 651 192 (Queensland only) or (07) 3867 2525 (rest of Australia).

For privacy reasons, we recommend calling the Elder Abuse Helpline or Police. Staff at these services are professionally trained and they are skilled in dealing with information about harm or risk of harm to older people.
