The department is currently inviting applications for the following funding programs

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities Community Grants 2020

Applications are invited for one-off funding of up to $5,000 to support awareness raising events, projects or activities that:

  • build the capability of mainstream DFV services to respond appropriately to CALD client’s needs
  • increase the capacity of DFV services to support people, in particular women, impacted by DFV from CALD backgrounds
  • increase availability of translated resources and interpretive services
  • support community leaders to contribute to the prevention of DFV
  • support community responsiveness and working with community resources
  • establish community-led accessible, approachable and appropriate community education that addresses current barriers
  • support people impacted by violence to navigate the legal system.

Applications close at 12pm Friday 10 April 2020 and can be submitted by visiting SmartyGrants.

Stop Cyberbullying grants 2020 - Young People

Applications are now open for young people (through a Sponsoring Organisation) to apply for a grant of $1000 to $2000 to deliver a project or initiative that will stop cyberbullying in their local community.

Projects and initiatives must be delivered in Queensland between 1 August and 31 October 2020 by empowering other young people to stop cyberbullying by:

  • becoming positive role models
  • developing respectful and positive relationships and better interpersonal skills
  • creating supportive environments for young people, encouraging them to think about how cyberbullying makes people feel and how we can stop it
  • encouraging young people who see cyberbullying to speak up and support their friends.

IMPORTANT: SmartyGrant applications must be made by a Sponsoring Organisation on behalf of a young person.

Stop Cyberbullying 2020 grants - Community Organisations

Applications are now open for community organisations to apply for a grant of $1,500 to $5,000 to deliver a project or initiative that will stop cyberbullying in their local community.

Activities, projects and initiatives must be delivered in Queensland between 1 August and 31 October 2020 and should:

  • empower young people to become positive social leaders/influencers
  • help develop respectful and positive relationships and interpersonal skills create supportive and healthy environments for young people
  • help build resilience and encourage young people to look after each other when they see cyberbullying happening.
