Queensland Youth Week 2019 Community Grants

Applications are now open for community grants of up to $2,000 to hold events, projects and activities during Queensland Youth Week 3 to 14 April 2019.

We're seeking applications for events, projects and activities that aim to:

  • raise awareness about the contributions of young people in Queensland's social, economic and cultural life
  • align with the objectives of the Queensland Youth Strategy's four Building Blocks:
    • Supporting our most vulnerable young people
    • Housing [and finance]
    • Healthy futures
    • Educating into employment
  • align with the government's commitment to tackle cyberbullying
  • include young people in the design and delivery of the event
  • promote partnerships and collaboration across the community.

Applications close at 4:00pm Friday 30 November 2018 and can be submitted by visiting SmartyGrants.

Sexual Violence Prevention Grants

Applications are invited for one-off funding of $500 to $5,000 to undertake activities in March and April 2019 that will support Queenslanders to continue the conversation about sexual violence.

Funded activities should aim to:

  • raise awareness and continue the conversation around sexual violence in Queensland communities
  • challenge misconceptions about sexual violence and promote community respect and support for victims and survivors of sexual violence
  • clearly communicate that sexual violence is not accepted and will not be tolerated in Queensland communities
  • educate friends, family, workplaces, sporting groups and other community groups on how to speak up against sexual violence and respond to victims and survivors who have disclosed sexual violence.

Examples of activities could include developing resources, events or workshops, or projects that support victims and survivors to share their stories. Activities must be undertaken in a way that is respectful and supportive of victims and survivors of sexual violence.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 14 December 2018 and can be submitted by visiting SmartyGrants.
