2020 Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month Grants

Applications are invited for one-off funding of up to $5,000 to hold awareness raising events, projects or activities during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in May 2020 that aim to;

  • raise awareness about the occurence and impacts of domestic and family violence in the Queensland community
  • provide information about help available to people affected
  • promote partnerships and collaboration across community to prevent domestic and family violence
  • engage and educate Queenslanders to create a community that supports respectful relationships, positive attitudes and behaviours and promotes a culture of non-violence
  • challenge Queensalnders to consider their attitudes towards domestic and family violence
  • empower family, friends, neighbours and colleagues of victims to take steps they might not otherwise take to respond to domestic and family violence

Applications close at 3pm on Friday 13 December 2019 and can be submitted by visiting SmartyGrants.

Queensland Youth Week 2020 Community Grants

Applications are invited for one-off funding of up to $2,000 for projects to celebrate young people aged 12-25 and their contributions to our communities during Queensland Youth Week 2020 (1-9 April 2020).

This year's theme is 'Yeah the youth!' a call to friendship, strength and unity between young people and a celebration of who they are and what they offer to our great state.

 

We ask for project applications that:

  • invite young people aged 12-25 to have input in its development and delivery
  • provide developmental opportunities to young people
  • align with the objectives of the Queensland Youth Strategy

 

Applications close at midnight Sunday, 15 December 2019 and must be submitted using SmartyGrants.

2019-20 Sexual Violence Prevention Grants

Applications are invited for one-off funding of between $500 and $15,000 to undertake sexual violence prevention projects in Queensland during Sexual Violence Awareness Month (October) 2020.

All projects must demonstrate alignment to strategies under Priority Area 1: Prevention in Prevent. Support. Believe. Queensland’s Framework to address Sexual Violence:

  • increase knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its drivers in the broader community
  • equip families, children and young people with accurate information on healthy relationships, consent and sexual violence
  • challenge attitudes, practices and structures that lead to sexual violence and stop people speaking out
  • strengthen the capacity of workplaces and institutions to prevent sexual violence
  • implement targeted prevention and early intervention activities tailored for and designed by specific population groups.

Projects can relate to the prevention of any form of sexual violence (e.g. sexual harassment, image-based sexual abuse, sexual assault and rape) experienced by all Queenslanders, including women and girls, young people, children and men.

Applications which include a particular focus on cohorts experiencing additional vulnerability to sexual violence (e.g. young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQ+ communities, CALD communities) are encouraged.
