Tackle Cyberbullying 2019 Grant Program - Young People

Applications are now open for young people (through a Sponsoring Organisation) to apply for a grant of $500 to $1,500 to deliver an activity, project or initiative that will tackle cyberbullying in their local community.

Activities, projects and initiatives must be delivered in Queensland between 15 August and 15 November 2019 by empowering other young people to tackle cyberbullying by:

  • becoming positive role models
  • developing respectful and positive relationships and better interpersonal skills
  • creating supportive environments for young people, encouraging them to think about how cyberbullying makes people feel and how we can stop it
  • encouraging young people who see cyberbullying to speak up and support their friends.

IMPORTANT: SmartyGrant applications must be made by a Sponsoring Organisation on behalf of a young person.

Tackle Cyberbullying 2019 Grants - Community Organisations

Applications are now open for community organisations to apply for a grant of $1,500 to $5,000 to deliver an activity, project or initiative that will tackle cyberbullying in their local community.

Activities, projects and initiatives must be delivered in Queensland between 15 August and 15 November 2019 and should:

  • empower young people to become positive social leaders/influencers
  • help develop respectful and positive relationships and interpersonal skills create supportive and healthy environments for young people
  • help build resilience and encourage young people to look after each other when they see cyberbullying happening.

Applications close at midnight on Sunday, 23 June 2019 and can be submitted by visiting SmartyGrants

2019 Truth, Healing and Reconciliation Grants Program

One-off funding of up to $10,000 or $15,000 for a joint application is now available to Queensland organisations and institutions. This grant is for activities that will contribute to truth, healing and reconciliation of people with a lived experience of institutional child sexual abuse. Activities that also acknowledge other forms of institutional abuse will also be considered.

Activities, projects and initiatives must be delivered in Queensland between 1 October and 31 December 2019 and should:

  • recognise the profound harm caused by institutional child sexual abuse, acknowledging other forms of institutional abuse
  • continue the conversation about institutional child sexual abuse, acknowledging other forms of institutional abuse across Queensland communities
  • raise awareness of institutional child sexual abuse, acknowledging other forms of institutional child abuse and their impact
  • create opportunities for meaningful connections with people with lived experience of institutional child abuse
  • promote cultural change in responding to people with lived experience of institutional child abuse and/or protecting children today.
