Family Support and Child Protection System Framework

Framing the Family Support and Child Protection System

The family support and child protection system framework has been developed to describe in a user-friendly way the key services and supports available in the family support system, and each phase of the child protection system.

The framework provides a common understanding of the family support and child protection system so that the user can navigate and explore the pathways that families and children who enter the system may take, and access further information.

The audience for the framework includes departmental staff, our partner agencies and members of the public.

For our partners, the framework helps clarify where services fit into the overall family support and child protection system. The framework also helps the department in its strategic planning, including identifying possible gaps in service delivery, and helping us identify how to better align services.

For members of the public it provides a clear description of the family support and child protection system and how it works to help families and protect children.

Enhancements continue to be developed and, over time, additional information will be 'mapped' across the framework such as where and how various services fit within the overall system.
