DFV Prevention Month

Each May, Queensland marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence and to send a clear message that such violence will not be tolerated.

This May we are encouraging Queenslanders to take up the Not Now, Not Ever challenge to help put an end to domestic and family violence.

Events calendar

Get involved in local events during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month by attending a local event near you. Alternatively, you can register an event.

Community grants

We provide one-off funding to community organisations to run events, projects or activities throughout Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.

The Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence in Queensland in its 'Not Now, Not Ever' report recommended that individuals, community groups and the private sector work together to help prevent domestic and family violence and support those affected.

The awareness raising events, projects or activities implemented during Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month each year, as well as the community grants, support the Queensland Government's response to the 'Not Now, Not Ever' report.
