Women

The Queensland Women’s Strategy 2016-2021 presents a shared vision of a Queensland community that respects women, embraces gender equality and promotes and protects the rights, interests and wellbeing of women and girls. As custodians of the Strategy, the Office for Women has established strong partnerships across government, business and the community sector, with groups who are working to achieve gender equality in Queensland.

Deloitte

Partners include Deloitte, who have been contracted to support the delivery of the Toward Gender Parity: Women on Boards initiative, which aims to increase women’s representation on Queensland Government bodies. A Strategic Advisory Group provides advice to support the development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of the initiative.

YWCA Queensland

The Office for Women has also partnered with YWCA Queensland to support Queensland Women’s Week, a week-long series of events and activities, first established in 2016 as an expansion of International Women’s Day celebrations. A small grants program administered by the YWCA Queensland supports the delivery of events, projects and activities across the state, offering opportunities for women of all ages and linguistic and cultural backgrounds to join the celebration.
